The point is to live everything

To quote a friend's tattoo, "my heart belongs to Tennessee."  I love this place - the mountains, the size of the cities, the music scenes, the diversity of the people, the crazy weather, the Sunsphere - it just feels like home.  Sure, it has its shortcomings, but I'll always come back.

That being said, with the new year come new adventures.  On January 10, I'm leaving for Peru to work with archaeologists in the Sacred Valley and around Machu Picchu studying Incan culture and doing community work on the side.  After 6 weeks there, I will leave for Cordoba, Argentina for 3 months where I will be working on a journalism internship at a local magazine.  My duties will be photographing and translating stories into Spanish.  From there, I will fly to Liberia, Costa Rica where I will work on another journalism internship for 9 months at a local television station.

But right now, my focus is Peru.  And Spanish, because I'd better be pretty darn good at it by the time I arrive in Costa Rica.
